| My environment is in RUH, When is the Upgrade | Upgrade will be in 4 Days, March 10 SDN, March 11 Control Plane, March 12 Zone-1 and March 13 Zone-2 Computes. |
| My environment is in JED, When is the upgrade | JED cloud upgrade is planned to be in Q2 2021. |
| So, its 4 Days, what will be happening in each day and what’s the impact? | Different Impacts, explained below. |
First day: March 10 | This is SDN (Network Management) upgrade, During the upgrade Cloud Platform (GUI & API) will not be available and network disruption for 60 minutes might be experienced. |
Second day: March 11 | This is control plane upgrade, During the upgrade Cloud Platform (GUI & API) will not be available. |
Third day: March 12 | Upgrading the computes zone-1, Each compute node in zone-1 will go through an upgrade cycle of 45 minutes, each VM will be rebooted during its compute node upgrade. |
Fourth day: March 13 | Upgrading the computes zone-2, Each compute node in zone-2 will go through an upgrade cycle of 45 minutes, each VM will be rebooted during its compute node upgrade. |
| Whats the duration of upgrade process each day ? | Upgrade process will start from 7PM (GMT +3) and finished on next day 7AM (GMT +3). |
| During these 12 Hour, when the network interruption of 60 minutes in First day? | Unfortunately, we cannot tell that, it could be any time between the scheduled time. |
| When exactly, my virtual machine is rebooted in second and third day ? | Unfortunately, we cannot tell that, upgrading is through a pipeline of many batches. It could be any time between the scheduled time. |
| Can I migrate my virtual machines from Zone-1 to Zone-2 to avoid downtime? | Unfortunately, we cannot do that during the maintenance window. |
| I need to create some Virtual machines to do some Operations during the upgrade | Unfortunately, the Web GUI and API won’t be available during the upgrade. |
| Apart from the mentioned time, everything will be working fine? | Yes, like we mentioned, all workloads will be working fine except these mentioned time intervals |
| Third and Fourth day, is it a Shutdown signal or Reboot signal? | It will be a reboot signal, The virtual machines will keep its old state. |

| My virtual machines will be upgraded, I have Ubuntu 16.4, will it be Ubuntu 18.4? | No, your virtual machines will keep its original state. We are not touching it. We are only upgrading the platform. |
| I need to take the backup of my data before this upgrade, can you do it? | We are not taking any backup. But you can subscribe for this Backup as a Service here. |
